Operation Jingle Bells 2020

UNLV Veterans Alumni Teams Up with Community Leaders to Spread Holiday Cheer with Operation Jingle Bell

Christmas in 2020 will be no ordinary Christmas, which is why the UNLV Veterans Alumni have teamed up with multiple generous sponsors & donors to spread some holiday cheer in a time when it’s needed most. This year is certainly one for the record books, as we face a worldwide pandemic, economic uncertainty, and unprecedented local and national political events. In a time when smiles are hidden behind masks and a season of togetherness is being spent insolation, the need for care, compassion, and unity has never been greater. In the spirit of goodwill and charity, the UNLV Veterans Alumni Club has collaborated with various partners and members of our Veteran community to bring some extra jingle to families that have been deeply affected by these circumstances in Southern Nevada.

Aptly named Operation Jingle Bell, The UNLV Veterans Alumni teamed up with Triple 8 Spirit Productions, Low VA Rates, Barry and Becky Mott, Aaron Manfredi Real Estate, Trevor Scelso, Jeff Detrick, and Jessica Payne to award five Southern Nevada families in need with $500 each, to provide them holiday dinners, gifts, and some much-needed cheer and relief. The first successful installment of Operation Jingle Bell awarded the sponsored families on Thursday, December 17, and presented them with gift certificates and cash to get them through a tough holiday season. This initiative was developed while the Veterans Alumni were planning next year’s events calendar; Aaron Manfredi, UNLV Veterans Alumni Club Vice President, spearheaded the Operation. The Veterans Alumni Board planned and executed the rest through community outreach, social media, and personal efforts and contributions. Needless to say, as Operation Jingle Bell was launched, emails from Veterans and families asking for assistance started coming in, and the Veteran Alumni decided to go the extra mile to make the Operation a success. Many put in their own money where their heart is with direct contributions and reached out to their collective networks and relationships forged throughout the years to find others willing to help. The UNLV Veteran Alumni are proud to serve the Southern Nevada Community in keeping with their core values of Integrity, Professionalism, Respect, and Service, and look forward to continuing charitable holiday community service in the future. Mission Accomplished.
